You who fear the Lord, trust in the Lord! He is their help and
their shield. Psalm 115:11
Have you ever waded into the ocean and experienced the pull of
the undertow? It leaves you with a healthy respect for the power
of the waves and leaves you with a choice for how to interact
with them. You can stay on the beach and simply watch them, step
only into shallow waters where you can easily stand in your own
strength or swim against its force, or you can dive in and
cooperate with the rhythm of the tide, learning how to let its
flow carry you safely to shore.
Today’s verse is an invitation to engage more deeply with God.
Yes, have fear and reverence for the Lord, recognizing His
power…and trust Him! Rather than standing back at a distance, or
thrashing about in your own strength, immerse yourself in His
presence and His love. Freely place your confidence in His
ability and desire to help you, provide for you and protect you,
letting His strength carry
Today, ask that God will increase your capacity to trust Him and
be lifted by His power.
